The San Juan River Foundation Inc. is officially incorporated in the State of New Mexico as a 501c3 Non-Profit organization. All proceeds to the foundation will be 100% tax deductible for donations and proceed will go directly to fulfilling the mission of our organization.

January 15th, 2009
New Mexico Game and Fish, Bubba Smith, Director of the San Juan River Foundation, San Juan River Guide Association, guides and citizen volunteers stock over 500 18-22" in fish in the San Juan. Over 18 boats showed up to assist in putting these fish in the river. Thanks to Jim McClintic, Mark Weatherington and the other staff at NMGF, all the guides and Phil Green for participating in the stocking. Here is a link to the event. Thanks again to ALL!!

The Foundation has its Form 1023 Tax Exemption Status Pending with the IRS. Please refer to the link below to review any donations that will qualify as tax deductible while the exemption is pending. We anticipate no problems with our application and thanks.

Another round of fish for the San Juan River. Bubba Smith, Director of the San Juan River Foundation, numerous guides and the good folks at NMFG stocked another 3600 8"-10" fish into the river. Within the next two weeks, 80,000 4" fish will be stocked as well. Thanks to everyone who pitched in and helped and thanks again NMFG.
Week of March 9th
The first two donation checks have been received for the foundation. Thanks to both the Haney's and the Ochoa's for your contributions. We need more everyone so we can work with state officials at NMFG to coordinate projects and receive 3-1 federal matching funds from the Sportfish Recreation Act. Please consider contributing now.

The San Juan River Foundation has been asked to present our goals and ideas to the Durango Trout Unlimited Chapter. Thanks to Paul Sheppard, Durango TU Chapter President for the invite and donation. We look forward to meeting the members of the Chapter and sharing ideas. Please consider getting involved and donating to our foundation.

The San Juan River Foundation attended the San Juan River Guide Association meeting at the Soaring Eagle Lodge in Navajo Dam, NM. Larry Johnson, Owner of the Soaring Eagle has accepted a role on the Board of Directors of the Foundation. Larry's passion for the San Juan and knowledge as business Owner and Outfitter of the Soaring Eagle Lodge brings instant credibility to the Foundation. Bubba Smith, Merc and Paul Freeman welcome and thank Larry and look forward to our combined efforts to preserve our river.
Thanks especially to everyone who attended the meeting and participating. A special thanks goes out to Mark Weatherington of NMFG for your attendance, feedback and input.

The San Juan River Foundation received the official letter from the IRS recognizing our Foundation as a 501c3 non-profit tax exempt organization. We are official.
